Coming from the February group, my son will be 6 months old in a week and has been rolling onto his belly for 2 months now. He does it in his sleep almost every night and will SCREAM. We practice all day, every day but he still can’t roll from belly to back. We’ve tried letting him cry for a little bit while on his tummy but his screams only get louder. This never happened with my first!
Did anyone’s baby take over 2 months to roll the other way? Does this get better??

W ended up using a safe-t-sleep thing. It stops them from rolling in the night. I just needed sleep after a while ������

My babe was born Jan 4 and still can’t roll either direction. She hates being on her tummy and generally loves to be in my arms so her motor skills may be slower but I’m ok with it, she’ll learn later. It’s not that big of a deal in my opinion. Everyone learns everything, just at different times.

Same birth date for my son and we have been concerned because he was not rolling at all and then bam yesterday he rolled belly to back 10 times and just kept doing it! So far with my kids milestones it seems like one day suddenly they just get it out of nowhere! My first did the same with walking at almost 18 months. One day it was like okay I just walk now lol

lol that’s great!! I would be excited for sure when she rolls or crawls. Once they learn a new skill then that’s all they want to do

my son is on the bigger side (23 pounds at 6 months) and my doctor told me he’d sit before he rolled as that’s a lot of weight to move around. And she was right he’s got sitting down pat but still struggles some days with rolling. He’s just got to build those muscles

It’s really not a concern. Especially if you can tell he has good core control it’s usually a matter of just being stubborn and not wanting to and not that they can’t.
Ignore what “experts” say and not all babies are going to do things in the same order. Just like adults babies have different anatomy structures. A 20lbs baby may struggle to crawl or roll but have stronger core control compared to a 12lbs baby at the same age. You can look up how to help them learn but eventually they will figure it out in their own time.

My baby rolled belly to back at just over 3 months old and she’s now almost 7 months (born Jan 24) and still won’t roll belly to back, she just hangs out on her belly and then when she’s done, she lays her head down and cries until we flip her. We try to practice rolling but she just does not understand how to get on her back. If she does it in her crib, she will fall asleep but then wakes up in a hour or so wanting to be flipped.
Last week she managed to roll once from belly to back and then this morning she did as well so maybe she’s starting to finally figure it out.

My little boy isn’t rolling from belly to back either and he’s 7months this week. It’ll happen, it’s frustrating for you. But it happens when it happens

Our girl is 7 months and still hasn’t really mastered the belly to back roll! She’s done it a handful of times, but she doesn’t roll herself back to her back when she wakes up and starts squawking. Hopefully your guy gets the hang of it soon, or at least more comfortable with waking up on his tummy!
