Born Thursday, January 12, 1933, in Wadesboro, NC, she was the daughter of the late Frank Harrington and the late Mary (Gathins) Harrington. Dorothy graduated from Lilesville High School, where she was a cheerleader. In her early years she was employed at Wade Mill in Wadesboro, NC and later with J.L. Jones Construction in Charlotte, NC. In 1977 they relocated to Hagerstown, MD, where Dorothy enjoyed being a wife and mother. She was a member of Hagerstown Church (Formerly First Baptist Church) in Hagerstown.
