Farmer Wants A Wife fans have been calling for an LGBTQIA+ storyline on the Channel Seven matchmaking show for years.
But they were disappointed once again this week when the line-up of eight eligible bachelors for 2025 revealed another roster of straight men.
A network insider has revealed it 'was not an intentional move from the producers' to axe the diverse storyline.
'There were some pretty strong discussions that Farmer Wants A Wife was going to have a diversity angle for the next season of the popular dating show but those plans have been dropped due to a lack of suitable applicants from both same-sex attracted farmers and potential love interests,' a source toldYahoo Lifestyle.
'We know that there are strong communities in regional areas, and we would love to have them take part in the long-running show. It is not for lack of trying.
'The audition process is quite extensive, and while there were a handful of options, in the end, the farmers picked were more suitable based on their personalities this time around.'
The insider went on to say there is 'an unusual imbalance' when it comes to the queer community applying for reality dating shows in Australia.
Though plenty are eager to sign up for series like Big Brother, The Voice and MasterChef, there is a significant lack of queer applicants who are comfortable appearing on dating shows.

Fans were left crushed over the previewed line-up for the 2025 season of FWAW when it was released last week.
Channel Sevenshared the line-up on Instagram as the network called for single Aussie women to sign-up and compete for the farmers' hearts.
Viewers flocked to the comments to slam the lovelorn heartthrobs who are set to grace our screens next year - with many noting most of the farmers are rather young, aged in their 20s.
'Where are the mature farmers? Plus 40-55 would suit more of the single market,' one person wrote.
'Seriously where are the older Farmers in their 40s, 50s, 60s,' while a third added: 'Why does a 20 yr old need help to find a wife?' another commented.

'One 35 and one 31 the rest are babies... ridiculous! Where are the older farmers??' someone else said.
'They are too young what about more mature farmers,' yet another remarked.
'Young bucks again, no doubt decent people. But where are the mature men in their 40s and above?' one commented.
Eight handsome singles have been cherry-picked for the Seven dating show, but two men will be cut from the final line-up with just six farmers taking to screen next year.
The farmers in the running for the 2025 cast include a 29-year-old banana and avocado farmer from Mareeba, Queensland, called Reidy.
Dashing cattle farmer Jack, 26, from Oberon, New South Wales, is opening his heart to love in 2025, along with sheep farmer Jarrad, 21, fromStanthorpe, Queensland.

Handsome singleton Jack L, 26, who runs a dairy farm in Railton, Tasmania has signed up along with sheep farmer Tom M, 31, from Borambola, New South Wales.
Also on the quest for love are wheat, barley and lentil farmer Thomas, 35, from Kimba, South Australia and cattle farmer Chooka, 25, from Goornong, Victoria.
With the show still in pre-production, it remains to be seen which two farmers will be cut and which six will make it to screen to kick off their search for true love.
