Opening Characters and Special Guests

Opening Characters

Special Guests

Special Guests Only Available if You Have the Character

Aside from the main Opening Characters, the 4 Special Guests Wriothesley, Alhaitham, Baizhu, and Sigewinne are only available if you have them in your own collection.

If not, then do not worry as they may still appear as Supporting Cast options if other players place them into their Support Cast roster!

Support

Make Sure Your Supporting Cast is Pyro, Electro, or Anemo

Aside from the Special Guests, the only characters available in this season are Pyro, Electro, or Anemo characters. Be sure to choose these as your Supporting Cast for other players to use!

If you are in need of another player's built characters to give your team that much-required edge in the Theater grounds, consult our request board below!

Possible Team Comps

Act 1 - 3

Anemo-Focused
Anemo Anemo Any Any
Overloaded
Pyro Electro Any Any
Aggravate/Overloaded (Boss)
Clorinde Sub-DPS Buffer Support

Most of your Team Comps in the First 3 Acts will be built around the Opening Characters. These include running an Anemo-Focused team with Wanderer and Faruzan, or an Overload team featuring Clorinde or Arlecchino.

Overloaded Reaction Guide

Act 4 - 6

Reverse Melt
Wriothesley Pyro Pyro Any
Overloaded
Pyro Electro Any Any
Spread/Quickbloom (Boss)
Alhaitham Electro Sub-DPS Support

By this point, you should have more units to use to make your comps more flexible. These are only a few examples, but you can generally use any comp so long as it saves your best units for Act 6 and Act 8's bosses.

For Act 6, we recommend running a Dendro-related team as the boss is more general than the ones for Act 3 and Act 8.

Dendro Element and Reactions Guide

Act 7 - 8

Overloaded
Pyro Electro Any Any
Mono-Pyro (Boss)
Arlecchino Pyro Pyro Support

For the last 2 Acts, all your Pyro units should be ready for usage and this becomes the best time to use them.

Slot in your Pyro and leftover units in a way that you have your best units ready for Act 8's boss.

Pre-Boss Priorities (Act 1 - 2)

Season 1 Guide for Imaginarium Theater | Genshin Impact|Game8 (56) Spend most of your points on Companion Events, inviting as many of your characters as possible.

Season 1 Guide for Imaginarium Theater | Genshin Impact|Game8 (57) Spend the remainder of your points on Wondrous Boons or Mystery Caches buffs.

Season 1 Guide for Imaginarium Theater | Genshin Impact|Game8 (58) Leave your best characters (preferably Electro) with at least 1 Vigor for Act 3.

At the very start, you will have access to only the Opening Characters, so focus your points on acquiring more units to slot into your team comps.

For these Acts, try to prioritize getting your hands on Anemo and Electro units, and any of the available Special Guests, prioritizing Baizhu and Sigewinne.

General Strategy

Save Your Electro Units

Season 1 Guide for Imaginarium Theater | Genshin Impact|Game8 (59)

For the first few Acts, try to make sure that you have Electro units saved up to use for the Act 3 Climactic Showdown, as their presence will help you satisfy the other objectives.

Running Two DPS Units is Viable

As you will not have access to more premier supports such as Nahida and Furina, running two or even three DPS units can be viable here so long as it lets you satisfy the domain's main and bonus objectives.

Wanderer and Faruzan in particular function as a strong duo that can be slotted into another duo team that make for a potent setup.

Best Team Comp | Party Building Guide

You Can Fodder Some Units

You can opt to run two or three-man comps that fulfill themselves, allowing you to replace the 4th flex slot with someone who you foresee will not be getting used much, letting them take the Vigor hit in place of a more favored character.

Act 3 Climactic Showdown

Jadeplume Terrorshroom - x1

The boss for Act 3 is the Jadeplume Terrorshroom, fighting similarly to its Spiral Abyss and Overworld counterpart, reacting best to Electro and Pyro damage.

Defeat it After You Exhaust It

The Bonus objective requires you to apply Electro to the Jadeplume Terrorshroom to force it into an exhausted state. If you saved your Electro characters until now, it is the perfect time to use someone like Clorinde here.

As the Terrorshroom will have plenty of HP, place it into the exhausted state before going all-in on your damage to maximize efficiency and ensure that you can kill it before it gets back up.

Only Apply Pyro After it Exhausts Itself

If you are bringing a Pyro unit to an Electro-centric team, be sure to fully charge up the Jadeplume Terrorshroom's energy bar with Electro.

The energize bar on the opponent will lower if you apply Pyro before it fully activates. To ensure that you can safely bring Pyro out, activate the Terrorshroom first with Electro to force it into the exhausted state for the bonus objective.

All-In With a Pyro or Anemo Team

If you decide to opt out of using an Electro unit, or have none available, you can still use any unit with superior DPS and brute force through the opponent, but you will forfeit on securing the bonus objective this way.

Season 1 Act 4 - 6 Guide

Pre-Boss Priorities (Act 4 - 5)

Season 1 Guide for Imaginarium Theater | Genshin Impact|Game8 (61) Spend points on Companion events, inviting most of your Pyro characters.

Season 1 Guide for Imaginarium Theater | Genshin Impact|Game8 (62) Spend the remainder of your points on Wondrous Boons or Mystery Caches buffs.

Season 1 Guide for Imaginarium Theater | Genshin Impact|Game8 (63) Leave your best DPS characters with at least 1 Vigor for Act 6.

By this point in time, most of your available Anemo and Electro units will either have 1 Vigor, or are out of the fight. Use these next Acts to slowly move your attention towards Pyro-centric teams.

Prioritize getting Pyro characters and especially Supports, with any remaining free slots going to the Special Guests Alhaitham and Wriothesley if they are available.

General Strategy

Bring an Anemo Grouper to the Defense Battle

The Monolith Defense battle features multiple opponents coming from different directions, with the bonus and star objectives being to keep the monolith safe and to eliminate a certain number of opponents.

Due to not having the agency to pick and choose superior AoE units, try to bring a grouper to this battle to boost your chances of securing both the bonus and star objective, as it can get annoying to do so otherwise.

Fodder a Unit if You Need to

Season 1 Guide for Imaginarium Theater | Genshin Impact|Game8 (64)

At this point of the Imaginarium Theater, you will likely have a unit that is waiting to be selected but does not suit a particular team comp.

In this case, it is fine to run them into a duo or trio-functioning comp just so they can safely take the Vigor hit and even provide a bit of damage if needed.

Act 6 Climactic Showdown

Bathysmal Vishap Herd - x1

Act 6's boss features the Bathysmal Vishap Herd, behaving similarly to its Spiral Abyss variant, using a plethora of Electro and Cryo attacks to overwhelm their opponents while draining their Elemental Energy.

Avoid the Cleansing Shower Attack

These are the elemental balls that the Vishaps charge and shoot out. Avoid these at all costs as they not only prevent you from securing the bonus objective, but also reduce your party's Elemental Energy.

Try to Kill Them Both at the Same Time

The Bathysmal Vishaps both need to be killed at the same time, or within a few seconds of each other, as they can resurrect to half of their HP if the player does not fully defeat them both.

Try to segregate and split your damage to ensure that both of them fall near-simultaneously.

Season 1 Act 7 - 8 Guide

Pre-Boss Priorities (Act 7)

Season 1 Guide for Imaginarium Theater | Genshin Impact|Game8 (66) Spend points on Companion events, inviting your last set of characters.

Season 1 Guide for Imaginarium Theater | Genshin Impact|Game8 (67) Spend the remainder of your points on Wondrous Boons or Mystery Caches buffs.

Season 1 Guide for Imaginarium Theater | Genshin Impact|Game8 (68) Leave your best characters (preferably Pyro) with at least 1 Vigor for Act 8.

In your last stretch, don't hesitate to spend your points inviting any characters left in the background if there are. By now, the Vigor points left for the rest of your characters should be limited, so if you don't have much characters left, better save your best ones for Act 8.

The remainder of your points should be used by getting Boons or Mystery Caches before you head inside a Battle challenge. If you're planning on using Arlecchino, Clorinde, or Pyro characters for Act 8, be sure to get Boons that boost Pyro attacks or reactions.

Act 7 Strategy

The challenge should be a Normal mob battle where you defeat all enemies. The Elite mobs have a sizable HP here, so if you can't defeat them by the time limit, try to group them together first to cleave your attacks.

One of the bonus objectives is to defeat opponents using a specific type of attack, differing from player to player. Since you only need to do this 1 time to satisfy the condition, you can simply just lower down any enemy to near 0 HP then use the required attack.

Act 8 Climactic Showdown

Icewind Suite - Coppelius x1

The boss in the last act is the Icewind Suite featuring Coppelius, the male counterpart of the duo. The boss is similar to the version in the Spiral Abyss, where he creates a Cryo shield while Coppelia dances around the stage.

Ousia or Pyro attacks remove the Cryo shield

Upon starting the challenge, try to wait for Coppelius to create his Cryo shield before unleashing your burst as any attacks that are not Pyro or Ousia will be mitigated by that shield.

Once the Ice shield appears, simply use Pyro attacks or one tick of an Ousia ability to remove this shield and make him vulnerable.

Pneuma and Ousia Explained (Arkhe System)

Repeats the mechanic three times before calming down

Battling Coppelius will loop around him creating the Cryo shield until he does the rotation three times.

After the third rotation, the Icewind Suite enters a stationary phase where Coppelius is unshielded. This is the second best time to unleash everything that you can before they loop back to the shield phase.
